The most prestigious date in the childrens entertainment calendar, The British Academy
Childrens Film and Television Awards in association with the LEGO Company is moving to
the new date of Sunday 2 December 2001. The Academy has moved the Awards from its
original date of Sunday 4 November 2001 to accommodate the worldwide film premiere of
Harry Potter and The Philosophers Stone, which is taking place on the same day. BAFTAs
Chief Executive, Amanda Berry, said, "There is a wealth of talent and creativity in the
childrens film and television industries - our awards have always recognised excellence in the
childrens market. Each year the amount of entries grows, proving what an important part
childrens programming plays in the entertainment industry". Now in its sixth year, the Awards
celebrate and honour the very best of film and television for the younger audience. The starstudded
event will take place at the London Hilton on Park Lane. Nominations will be
announced on Monday 15 October 2001. For further information please contact Melissa Hall-
