Jason Isaacs says he was made to feel very welcome when he joined the cast of the new Harry Potter film.

Lucius Malfoy's son Draco prepares to duel with Harry in The Chamber Of Secrets /Imagenet

Isaacs and Kenneth Branagh are the new members of the cast in Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets.

Isaacs plays Lucius Malfoy, the father of Harry's enemy Draco.

He says he was welcomed on set with open arms, stating: "It was like turning up to a very good party where all the people are slightly bored with each other but are thrilled when the doorbell rings."

Isaacs is not expected to feature in the next film, but hopes to make a return for the fourth and maybe even fifth film.

He says: "The only clue I've had is Jo (JK Rowling) saying it's been very painful killing off one of the characters that everyone loves and no one loves Lucius, so I'm presuming I'm still alive."
