Spellbound stars flocked to the Harry Potter movie premiere last night - and many brought thier kids along too.
 
A host of adults celebrities were drawn to London's Leicester Square drawn by the magic of JK Rowling's children's book wizard.
 
They were cheered hysterically by 5,000 delirious fans who gathered  for a glimpse of the films cast.
 
Among famous faces at the bash to launch Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone were the Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson - with daughters Beatrice, 13 and 11-year-old Eugine - and TV funnyman Jonathan Ross.
 
Fergie said after the movie: " It's  brilliant. I thoroughly enjoyed it and the girls loved it. I've read all the books - they're absolutely wonderful."
 
Jonathan was accompanied by his wife Jane Goldman, daughters Betty Kitten, ten, and Honey Kinny, four, and seven-year-old son Harvey Kirby.
 
The star quipped: "We were all fighting about who'd wear the wizard's hat. We couldn't decide so we agreed nobody would."
 
Naughty
TV hosts Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan arrived with  kids Jack, 13 and chloe, 12, to see the film - tipped to become the biggest of all time.
 
Richard said: " The books are popular with kids and adults." Judy said: "JK Rowling's  very witty . The book's quite naughty in parts. We couldn't wait to see the film."
 
Ex-Police rocker Sting turned up with is daughter Coco, 11. He said: "She is a big fan."
 
Former All Saints singer Natalie Appleton brought her daughter Rachel , nine, while actress Patsy Kensit took her ten-year-old son James.
 
Virgin tycoon Sir Richard Branson arrived with  his 16-year-old son Sam and daughter Holly ,20.
 
Brooklyn Beckham turned up in a startling tartan suit - looking as stylish as his football star dad does..
 
He was accompanied by mum Victoria's parents Jackie and Tony Adams.
 
Other guests included Steps singers Claire Richards, Lee Latchford-Evans, H and Faye Tozer. Cher , Jerry Hall, US magician David Copperfield and actor Ben Stiller were also there.
 
Sir Cliff Richard was on the guest list too, along with TV girl Donna Air and her boyfriend Damian Aspinall.
 
Outside the cinema, capes  and wizard hats were out in force as many fans dressed as Harry Potter characters.
 
Actor Daniel radcliffe, who plays Harry in the film, got the biggest cheer of them all from the waiting crowds.
 
But he admited he was extremely nervous. Daniel, 12, said: "I woke up last night at 3am, 4am and 6am. But although I am very nervous I'm also extremely excited and happy."
 
Rupert Grint, 12, and ten-year-old Emma Watson, who play Harry's best friends  Ron Weasley and Hermione Grainger, were among the first to arrive at the star-studded bash.
 
Rupert said:" I can't believe the size of the crowd that has turned out to see us. It's fantastic." Cracker star Robbie Coltrane, who plays gamekeeper Hagrid, arrived with wife Rhona. He said: "I'm a big Harry fan. My son Spencer's eight and an extra in the film - so acting runs in the family."
 
Tickets for the premiere were said to be fetching £5,000 on the black market.
 
Author JK Rowling, 36, said: "It went wonderfully. I am so pleased, everyone seems to love it. I am also really pleased to to see how many people have dressed up for the occasion."
 
The  movie goes on general release on Novmber 16.
